"It's like a job. You have goals. You see results" -Yuriy, Experience Corps Member

Experience Corps Grand Rapids The Experience Corps program in Grand Rapids is hosted by Gerontology Network. The program serves students in grades K-3. Members are each assigned to six children and work at the direction of the teacher in small groups or in one-on-one tutoring sessions. The program currently engages 20 members and operates in two schools.

Gerontology Network works to enhance the quality of life and promote the independence of older adults, their families, and care providers. This includes promoting healthy aging through services that prevent or treat aging-related issues, enhancing the emotional and physical health of older adults resulting in an improved health status, and collaborating on efforts to maximize the use of community services for the aging. Gerontology Network has hosted Experience Corps in Grand Rapids since 2006.
