  • "My greatest experience is to see young girls looking at me as a positive role model. They take pride in themselves as they respond to situations that I help them with. I like to see that they are able to take pride in themselves."

  • "Many seniors in San Francisco's Mission neighborhood have a lot of potential to do something for their community and yet they are not. The more mentally and physically active you are, the longer you live and the more fulfilled your life is. Rather than playing bingo and watching television, people should join Experience Corps and help students succeed."

  • "Students always ask me if their name is on my list of students to work with for the day. When they are able to work with me they tell me how much I am like a grandmother to them. It makes me feel good."
    – Carolyn Gresham

  • "A lot of students in the classroom ask for my help with their work, and they enjoy when I sit with them and share ideas for projects."
