Experience Corps St. George
The Experience Corps program in St. George is hosted by the Volunteer Center of Washington County. The program serves students in grades K-3 during the school day, and volunteers are assigned one or two to a classroom. The volunteers work at the direction of the teacher to support student literacy, working with students either in small groups or in one-on-one tutoring sessions. The program engages 24 members and operates in six area schools.
The Volunteer Center of Washington County exists to mobilize people and resources for creative solutions to community needs. This includes working to strengthen literacy or language skills for children or adults in the community. The Volunteer Center of Washington County has hosted Experience Corps in St. George since 2006.
